The WedgeGR

Harrison Mouthpieces has teamed up with GR Technologies to bring you the WedGR!

WGR2.jpgYou can now special order a Wedge mouthpiece made with a custom blank supplied by GR. The WedGR blank was designed by Gary Radtke and Dr Dave in order to allow milling of the Wedge rim onto a GR cup and backbore without the loss of cup volume that can change the playing characteristics of the original mouthpiece.

Now you can have the cutting edge technologies of the GR underpart and Wedge rim in one package with no compromises. We are very proud to be setting a new paradigm for cooperation and the advancement of technology in the brass world.

wgr3.jpgYou can place an order by emailing Dr Dave. These are a custom order and therefore cannot be returned for the usual money back refund. In order to make sure that the Wedge rim is a good match for you we suggest that you "audition' the mouthpiece by first ordering a stock Wedge mouthpiece. If you like the rim, but want to switch to a GR underpart you can return the Wedge and apply 100% of the original mouthpiece cost to a WedGR.

Cornet Mouthpieces

We will also be offering WedGR cornet mouthpieces in the same rim sizes in the following depths.

#3. Middle of the road. Excellent characteristic sound without sacrificing range or flexibilities. This is GR's most popular cornet cup used for all situations.

#6. Very big and powerful with the ability to color the sound to play soft and pretty. Ideal for Brass Bands and solo cornet work. This mouthpiece has the same depth as the GR #3 Cornet cup but the throat entrance is more open.

#7. Big sound that can be mellow or loud. This cup is deeper than the GR #3 and #6 Cornet cups, furthermore, the throat entrance is more open. This cup can tolerate a lot of lip engagement. The cup volume is massive and similar to the older traditional Cornet cups, although, GR has put the math to this cup and corrected many of the difficult playing issues. This cup features improved intonation, accuracy, upper register and articulation over other traditional designs popular today without a compromise to sound. Above high C can be more work. An excellent Brass Band mouthpiece.
